The pub food here has been good at times I think it may come from the same kitchen as the associated restaurant. The ambience is very family friendly but this can be overwhelming at times during the weekend. Hi Stephen, Thanks for taking the time to review us on TripAdvisor. We welcome all walks of life here Our kitchen serves the entire building - hotel guests, restaurant and pub.

You'll have to come and visit during Wimbledon, its a lot of fun here at the moment! See you soon! Jess Rafferty. Whilst we only popped in for drinks prior to visiting a local restaurant it was great experience. There was a great voice of beers and wines and the service was explanatry despite it being really busy. Other pubs could learn a great deal from the Dog and Fox business model. Hello Ash51! Thank you for your fabulous feedback.

Customer service is our number one priority and were glad you enjoyed your time here. A good bar always has the enought for everyone to drink like a dog and eat like a fox. See you soon, Jessica Rafferty. I had lunch here with my daughter and really enjoyed it - I can't wait to go back when I return to Wimbledon. The atmosphere was so warm and cozy - with a diverse group of people ranging from young families to groups of friends.

I had the pork roast which was exactly what I wanted - a traditional Sunday lunch. Hello Georgina, Isn't Sunday Roast the best? And we've got the best roast in Wimbledon, dare I say the whole of London? If there's someone worthy of a roast competition, we'll take them on! See you next time, Jessica Rafferty.

For most of the year Wimbledon Village is rather quiet.

The bookmaker will probably be sadder than angry not long after It's glib to portray the end of greyhound racing in London as some aspect of the end of working class culture in the city. Thing is, the closure of Wimbledon is as much to do with property prices in the capital and the steady march of the internet than any other 'cultural shift'. Catford and Walthamstow, Harringay, Wembley and White City, evocative venues of a now bygone era, were all bulldozed as the result of one property deal or another.

The best pub in Wimbledon !!!! - The Crooked Billet

This is a great pub which i go to regularly. The pub has a great family friendly atmosphere and is very dog friendly. The food is great, in particular the Roast dinners: The staff are always very good, efficient and friendly. I'm giving the Crooked Billet my top rating. Well, it's not in the Michelin star league but honestly it couldn't be faulted for simple pub fayre and ambience.

Grandstand Restaurant Wimbledon Stadium

Punters young and old are saddened as the most famous dog racing venue in the country prepares to face its final curtain. Photographs by Antonio Olmos. Fri 24 Mar T he Wimbledon Stadium is not really in Wimbledon. With an SW17 postcode, the last dog track in London is technically in Tooting and, to confuse matters further, sits next door to Streatham cemetery. The arena itself is low and aluminium-clad but while it pushes right out on to Plough Lane, the entrance is at the back, through a series of vacant lots, past an American diner and behind a mock Tudor building that must at some point have been a pub but is now a wood-flooring warehouse painted rust orange. Something about Wimbledon Stadium feels out of place and soon it will be out of time. The venue closes its doors forever on Saturday night after 89 years of greyhound, speedway and, latterly, banger racing.

I t's as lovely as it sounds, Wimbledon Village - a little enclave of quaintness in a gentrified corner of London , beside a village green and a duck pond. During the tennis it is decked out in purple and green, bunting strung from window to Victorian window; it is also packed to the gills with tennis fans forming sunburned queues at chain restaurants tip: Here's where to find the best restaurants in Wimbledon even if you haven't booked fools! Been to watch the dogs a few times but this was my first time watching the banger racing. So much Last night, four of us went for a greyhound. It is a great experience and everyone should try it I asked for a table nearest the track which they manaed to organise. This does include admission and a race card. Overall food was ok, not big portions but ok and served hot except dessert which was only warm crumble and custard. Lady comes to you and takes your bets if you want one which is good so you need not leave your table Went as a party of 20 and had a great night, food was very good and service was ok considering how much they had to do. The lady who came around to take your bets was great a real ambassador. Not to expensive either will be going again. This place is quite fun.
